I have known Erin since middle school and she has always been a sweetheart. Sincere, outgoing, and adventurous. Simply the kind of girl you just want to be friends with. When she contacted me to photograph her wedding I was more than thrilled to be apart of the most memorable process of her life. I had previously met Nick only one time and that was all it took to realize he was a keeper. He fit right in with anyone he encountered. He was equally sweet and compassionate. There was no questioning that he was the one for her! At the rehearsal dinner, Nick stood up and told the story of how he met Erin. They went to college together and met in a class. He was interested and tried to take Erin out a few times and eventually succeeded. He toasted with both family and friends to their history, current love and future. I’m not even going to pretend that he didn’t have half the room in tears. I was on the side WITH the tears.
And EIGHT YEARS LATER… they are happier than ever, married, and living in New York <3
But don’t let me get too carried away. We have to discuss all the wedding details first! I arrived at Springfield Manor and Winery on a crisp cloudy Friday morning. It was the perfect temperature and the warm overcast was every photographers dream come true.
Every new “detail” I went to photograph I began by squealing like a child on Christmas. Gold Sparkles and white diamonds and maroon flowers, oh my! The bridal party got ready and toasted with Champagne and we were off to get these two married. Their ceremony was unique and I was loving every minute of it. Nick and Erin each wrote a note to one another and put it in a box with a bottle of wine and will open it on their one year wedding anniversary. How neat is that? Can you imagine all those feelings and emotions in those hand written letters and how special it will be to read them in a year and all the years to follow.
The reception was simply a blast. The newly Mr. & Mrs. Gonzalez was introduced to one of my favorite bands – Angels and Airwaves. Erin told me they chose “The Adventure” because of the lyrics -I can’t live, I can’t breathe, unless you do this with me. She said, “we thought it was perfectly fitting as we are the love of each others lives. He is my greatest adventure.”
Thank you to everyone who made this wedding so spectacular!
